I'm a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Florida, where my research sits at the intersection of NLP, large language models, and engineering education. I build AI systems that make mentorship more scalable and effective — from dialogue classifiers that analyze peer advising conversations to chatbots that let advisors practice with AI-simulated students.
Two projects I'm particularly proud of: the PEER HELPER Training Chatbot, an AI-powered platform that trains peer advisors through realistic role-play scenarios, and the Pro-CaRE Recommender System, which matches engineering students with internship opportunities using LLM-enhanced hybrid recommendations. Pro-CaRE was recently featured in UF Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering News.
Outside of research, I'm an avid basketball player and swimmer, and I enjoy the strategy and patience that come with golf and poker. I play guitar when I need to step away from the screen, and I love traveling to explore new cultures and perspectives.
I believe the future of education lies in human-AI collaboration — not replacing human connection, but making it more accessible to everyone.
